Arganil

Belonging to the district of Coimbra, the integration of Arganil in the Central Ranges gives it rugged terrain, a fact that justifies the existence of countless natural charms that attract tourists, with tourism being one of the main activities of the municipality, along with some industries. Handicrafts have persisted, so it will be possible to find craftsmen producing typical articles from the region: wooden spoons, shale houses and nativity scenes, basketwork, some cheeses and sausages. For lovers of good food, Arganil has authentic delicacies. The Côja-style kid, the stuffed tripe, the meat ball "à Convento de Folques", the "chanfana" and the pork greaves represent the meats; in fish, the trouts of Alva are very popular. Finally, for dessert, the "tigelada" and "nabada" from the Folques Monastery.
