Crato
The county seat, the town of Crato, was built on the ruins of an important city, perhaps Carthaginian, and had a charter in 1232. There are several archaeological monuments in this area. The keep and walls remain of the old castle (Property of Public Interest). Traditional activities include woodworking, stonework and cork work. The region's cuisine is rich and varied.
