Gravity dam located in Ribeira de Nisa (Tejo Hydrographic Basin), with river beach. It allows the practice of sporting and leisure activities, although subject to certain areas of use.

The reservoir by the Dam has, in its bed, granite rocks that make its natural beauty stand out. Fishing is forbidden in the area, as is using motor boats.

It includes the Natural Park of the São Mamede Mountain. It is normally used by mountain climbers.
