Beach in Funchal
Largo do Socorro
It is located in the old town of Funchal, opposite the São Tiago Fort. It has a blue flag and good conditions for tourists. Not only that, but it has a children's pool with paid entry, toilet, changing rooms, bar, umbrellas, sun loungers, children's playground and first aid station. It also has a car park and access for the disabled.
Rua do Gorgulho
This beach is probably the most famous bathing complex on the Madeira island. It has two saltwater pools, renewed every day, as well as access to the sea. It has several infrastructures, such as a children's playground, ping-pong tables, diving center, tobogan, beach items store, changing rooms, baby changing facilities, WC, sun loungers, umbrellas, lockers, among others.
Rua da Praia Formosa
Beach located ten minutes by car from the center of Funchal. It has three small sandy beaches and one pebble beach, called Arieiro. In summer it has a Blue Flag and is supervised by a team of lifeguards. It is an attractive place due to the sporting activities that are practiced there and the nightlife that it offers. It has three medical stations, WC, playground for children between 2 and 12 years old, parking and changing rooms.
Rua da Ponta da Cruz
Bathing area with some natural pools formed in the rock. It has direct access to the sea, with clear waters. Highlight for a curious tunnel dug in the rock that gives access to Praia Formosa. Entry is paid.
Praia do Forte
Small beach with black stones and some rocky formations.
Praia do Gorgulho
Small shingle beach located next to the seaside complex Lido.
Poças do Governador / Complexo Balnear da Ponta Gorda
Seaside area with two adult pools and one for children, sea access, sand fields to practice sports, playground and first aid sickberth. It is located at the promenade Lido-Praia Formosa.
Praia do Clube Naval do Funchal
Beach with clear waters and swimming pools, offering good conditions to practice diving. It has lifeguard.

Praia da Ponta Gorda
It is the most recent seaside complex at Madeira Island, with a privileged location, at the Lido promenade, ideal place of a walk. It has two adult pools and one for children.
