Between Benafim and Salir, right in the ravines of the Algarve, Rocha da Pena is a place with a bleak landscape in a large plateau, about 2 km wide and almost 500 metres high. Of speological interest due to th existence of several caves, the Site is also extremely rich in terms of its fauna (namely, for their rarity, the buzzard and the Bonelli's eagle) and its flora (wild rose, wild orchid and marsh tea). A space with a small fountain.

18th century hermitage, located on a hillock, with a simple architectural structure. One should notice, in the high altar, the 18th century sculptured panel and the image of the patron saint, with a dramatic expression, dating back to the 17th century. On one of the walls there is a crucifix made with tiles, with images, of the 18th century.

A hermitage composed of a sole nave, main chapel and sacristy. The main façade is a sole bunting, torn by an ashlar portal with an architrave rod, surmounted by a large window in a straight rod, sided by ashlar cracks. Inside, one should notice the high choir with wooden gratings over a crossvault and the nave, topped by a cradle vault. The main chapel has a triumphal arch in painted wood, an altar encased by pattern tiles and a panel in painted wood with the shape of a throne.

A temple built in the second half of the 17th century, with a simple exterior but much riches in its interior. It has a valuable set of tiles showing scenes of the Virgin Mary's life and a beautiful golden sculptured
