O Museu Marítimo de Sesimbra abriu em 2016, inserido na Fortaleza de Santiago. Neste Museu testemunhos, conhecimento e memórias da comunidade piscatória vão conviver lado a lado com uma componente tecnológica que permitirá gerar grande interação com os visitantes. O espaço reúne um vasto património, de que são exemplo um cepo de âncora com 5000 anos associado à navegação no período romano e um conjunto de anzois e pesos de rede situados entre 2500 e 200 a.C., os artefactos mais antigos da exposição. A história de Sesimbra em 3D e um Aquário virtual são outros detalhes inovadores do equipamento.

A collection that has vestiges of the human occupation in the region, since centuries ago, where one can view hunting artefacts, coins, other artefacts and other objects.

Modern equipement divided in four floors. Besides the traditional area of books, papers and magazines, the library has a multi functions room for 98 people, a computers room, a multimedia service, a space for the children and the teenagers and spaces for exhibitions, debates and cinema.

Opened in 2007, the movie theater is in the old building of the "Cinema", fully recovered and includes also the Municipal Library, opened in 2005. Is prepared to receive music, dance, theatre, cinema, conferences, seminars and congresses. Has 280 seats-240 in the audience and 40 on the counter. Has a central production unit on the counter where are the tables of light, sound, projector and cinema sound processor, the media player and two translation booths. Has an orchestra pit with a capacity of about 30 musicians.

A space devoted to exhibitions of religious artworks. It has paintings and sculptures of the 15th to 18th centuries and works of the primitive "Hospital da Confraria do Espírito Santo" (Hospital of the Holy Spirit Brotherhood) that was founded at the end of the 15th century.

A space devoted to the sea and the maritime life forms, related to the small town of Sesimbra. It has a collection of artefacts and photographs that relate to the several sea and fishing activities.

Located in the tourism office, this gallery promoves painting, sculpture, craftswork, photography and decoration artworks.

Located in the Castle of Sesimbra, this documentation centre has computers and internet besides its traditional services.
