Praça Professor Cavaleiro Ferreira
Designed by Portuguese architect Filipe Oliveira Dias in 2001, this theater is a fine specimen of Portuguese contemporary architecture. Opened in 2004, and since then the main show room in town.

This building of the 1700s houses a centre of contemporary art and opened to the public in 1993.It has a documentation centre, the pátio gallery, a sculpture park and a botannycal garden plus an important drawings collection with the most well known Portuguese contemprary artists. It has collective, individual and themed exhibitions.

19TH century building, where we ran the last change of station postal horses, the Malaposta. Rebuilt by the City Council, was opened in 1989 as a cultural space, consisting of several rooms and a gallery for temporary exhibitions.

It was named Coliseu Avenida from 1917 to 1950. It was recovered by the Town Hall in 2005. It maintains the same architecture but can now welcome all sorts of cultural events. It also has a museum that shows the island's past way of life.

Inaugurado em 2013, este projeto da autoria do arquiteto catalão Josep Lluis Mateo destaca-se na paisagem do centro da cidade pela sua arquitetura inovadora e diferenciadora. Trata-se de um edifício vazado, revestido a metal e madeira, com quatro pisos. Para além dos espaços de exposição, tem uma pista de patinagem de gelo sintético e um auditório com 275 lugares, dotado de um sistema acústico de alta qualidade, sem recurso a sistemas de amplificação.
