As the name suggests, Arcos de Valdevez is located in the Vez river valley. Beyond the riverside area, bordered by Campo do Trasladário, one can wander through its typical narrow streets of the Minho region and appreciate the monumental architecture and beauty of the town.
Parte integrante da Ecovia do Vez, o trilho dos Passadiços do Sistelo tem início e término no centro da aldeia de Sistelo. É um percurso simples e de dificuldade reduzida, ainda que haja alguma elevação em partes do trilho. No inverno, com o aumento do caudal do rio Vez, torna-se um percurso de difícil acesso, pelo que é aconselhável percorrê-lo na primavera ou verão.
The Peneda, a small mountain village with the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Peneda, is better known for having lent its name to the mountain it is located on. A place of lush vegetation, steep water streams and breathtaking natural views, it is fit for strolls or more radical activities.
Arcos de Valdevez remains quit charming: green vegetation, abundant freshness, manors and a mirror like river. This trail offers the most precious moments.
A pedestrian trail that starts at Sistelo, along which one may visit two "brandas", that of the Covo river and that of Alhal. It is along typical rural pathways, with cultivated corn and hay for the cattle.
