The Hat Museum is a space whose primary objective is to preserve the art of hat making, once renowned and a symbol of the municipality, with facilities that include a documentation center containing approximately 30,000 documents from the Industrial Hat Company and the Vieira Araújo Company, as well as felt and hat manufacturing machines, office supplies, samples, raw materials, and furniture.

The Oliva Art Center is an exhibition and collection management center created in 2013 as part of the project to reconvert one of the most symbolic industrial buildings in São João da Madeira - the Oliva factory and foundry. From its origin, the Art Center houses two large private collections: the Norlinda and José Lima Collection, one of Portugal's largest private collections of contemporary art; and the Treger / Saint Silvestre art brut and singular art collection, one of the largest of its kind in the Iberian Peninsula.
