Paços de Ferreira

The Lamoso menhir is a funerary mehir with a hallway where the chamber, with a poligonal plan is composed of parts that support a fragmented structure. The earth "mamoa" (a woman's statue) is intact. Large mamoa with a poligonal chamber composed of nine parts and a short hallway. On the upper part there is an engraved triangular figure. It is classified as a Public Interest Building.

This set includes the chapel, a fence and the house Hospício de Freamunde. A building of the 1800s, charcateristic of the great religious groups of the epoch. The chapel is triangular and so is the high altar that has carvings and has two niches that side a painting. The set is baroque but the carvings have neoclassic features. The main façade as a straight door. The chapel, the "Hospício" and the fence are triangular. It was built in 1737.

The Citânia de Sanfins (a celtic village in Sanfins) appeared around the 1st century bC and is spread along about 15 hectares. A proto-historic fortified village, with a regular plan and buildings that form blocks, surrounded by three lines of walls. It shows vestiges of having been occupied during the roman and medieval times. A special note to the discovery of a bath monument and of a necropolis composed of more than three hundred graves. It is classified as a National Monument.

Dna Silvia Cardoso was born in Paços de Ferreira, in the Casa da Torre (Tower House), in 1882, and passed away in the same house in 1950. The canonization process began in 1984 and she was declared a Servant of God. The statue was ianugurated on August 23, 1953, by the Cardinal Cerejeira and by the Bishop of Oporto Dom António Ferreira Gomes. The event was broadcasted to the entire country.

A statue that is a tribute to a main character of Paços de Ferreira. The republican (meaning pro-republic and against monarchy) doctor Leão de Meireles was a most influential figure in the parish after the Republic was declared. He was an administrator of the parish, president of the Town Hall, a deputee and a senator. This statue was inaugurated in March 1924.
