Built from the former Cine-Teatro Emperor, a design by the architect Filipe Oliveira Dias, the House of creativity has particularities unique in Portugal, allowing the adoption of several provisions in the areas of stage and audience. The urban park of the Ul, green space occupying an area equivalent to 30 football fields, is a modern and functional place of walk and recreation of the inhabitants of São João da Madeira and its visitors. Located in the city centre, the Park was designed by architect Sidónio Pardal and is characterized by the surrounding walls in granite and by a tree-lined interior that meanders the river Ul. It is a large space that invites to long walks or strolls in family through the freshness of the river and dams that were built there.

Old building of the Town Hall transformed into Paços da Cultura. Opened in 2005, houses an auditorium with about 200 seats, a café-concert, an Internet space, an area reserved for outdoor events, exhibition galleries and the historical archives of the city.

This garden, designed by architect Sidónio Pardal, is one of the main green spaces of São João da Madeira. Very well taken care of and pleasant, runs parallel to the Avenida da Liberdade and extends from the building of the town hall to the place of the bridge, reaching the river Ul and their margins. The garden connects the urban park installed along the Valley traversed by the same river.

The Art Center started its activity in May 1986, with the intention of creating a space that allows a privileged access to cultural initiatives at the level of the fine arts, as well as training in specific areas of art not included in academic curricula. There are courses in painting, engraving, tapestry, photography and silkscreen, among others, and activities such as exhibitions, workshops, or symposiums.

The Museum of Headwear is a space whose primary objective is to endure in time the art of headwear once renowned and symbol of the municipality, with equipment that includes a documentation centre, where are approximately 30000 headgear Industrial company documents and the company Araújo, in addition to Scallop manufacturing machines and felt hats, Office supplies, display cases, raw materials and furniture. The Museum has permanent and temporary exhibitions, counting for this with appropriate exhibition halls.
