The residence of the Bishops of Guarda, the Casa da Torre (Tower House), with a stronghold and a farm, plays an important role in the medieval history architecture of this place. It is possible that this Episcopal residence was built above a medieval, roman and gothic tower. In 1360 it was adapted to Guarda Bishop Residence and in 1792 it underwent renovations work. It has a irregular plan in “L” with three floors.
