The artistic patronage of the Monastery, which owned the parish of Cuba, resulted in the donation of liturgical artefacts that enriched the building's ambiance, whose interior is covered in 17th-century tiles. The brotherhoods and sisterhoods based in the building also competed in commissioning works, demonstrating the land's richness. The collection thus assembled became the treasure of the main church of São Vicente, which later incorporated pieces from other churches in the town.

This village was founded in 1616 on the estate of S. Luís de Jacentes (now Assentes), belonging to D. Estêvão de Faro - Count of Faro and Commander of S. Salvador de Jones. It also belonged to D. Diniz de Faro, the second and last Count of Faro, and to D. Juliana de Faro, the Countess of Faro. It was a town, formerly called Farinho, a very fertile land, especially in cereals. In 1775, the town's grantee was D. José Luís de Vasconcelos e Sousa, 6th Count of Pombeiro and 1st Marquis of Belas. Its parish priest was from the …

A Roman bridge composed of 26 arches spaced by round eyebolts. Although the bridge dates back to Roman times, it is believed to have undergone reconstructions by the Visigoths and Arabs. The oldest ones trace its origins to the Moorish King Iscar, one of the Arab chieftains defeated by King Afonso Henriques at the Battle of Ourique. It is a Cuban landmark as it is the town's only National Monument.

The appearance of the sepulchral stelae discoides in the grounds next to the Church assumes the existence of a medieval cemetery at the site. The legend says that every first Fridays of March the image of Nossa senhora do Outeiro cried and was sweating so much that the oil your lamp instead of decreasing, increased.
