Late-Mannerist Church of a longitudinal plan. To highlight, on the inside, the set of tiles in the chancel. It was built in the 17th century and, as has been the subject of successive reforms, features elements of various epochs: Mannerist, Baroque, Rococo, popular and vernacular.

The Chiesa Madre (mother church) of Selmes has harmonic facade. In the year 1755 the church building suffered various damages, including the frontispiece and vault of the choir, caused by the earthquake of November 1.

This church stands out the ornamental elements as figurative panels of tiling, one signed by António Pereira, others assigned to this master and Gabriel del Barco. Note also the gilded altarpieces of the chancel.
