Mountain Castle, medieval type, with walls of schist. Inside, it has a quadrangular Tower and Church nave only, with narrower chancel and Bell Tower-Church of Saint John the Baptist. The castle was abandoned for centuries and only in the year 1998 was rebuilt. The original monument kept the tower and some of the wall cloths in shale. The Foundation of this fortification is ascribed to Sertorius. It was rebuilt by count Dom Henrique and, in 1174, was donated by his son to the Hospitallers.

Located on a foothil above the Zêzere river, eighteen kilometres away from the parish's siege, Pedrógão Pequeno is an old village with several roman vestiges. It was once the siege of the parish (charter given by Dom Manuel I in 1513) under the name of Pedógão do Crato. The parish was extinct in 1834 and became a part of Sertã. There are still vestiges of the pillory left (classed as a National Monument). The church, in the manuelin style and composed of two wide naves, dates back to the 17th century.
