Statue paying homage to the Portuguese navigator from the XV João Gonçalves Zarco, who discovered this island. The work is by the architects Francisco Franco and Cristino da Silva and was built up in the XIX century.

This Convent assembles a set of buildings of extreme beauty. Although it is a construction from the XV century it is yet what it was built for 500 years ago: a convent of Franciscan nuns. The main chapel of the Nossa Senhora da Conceição church owns a magnificent silver sacrarium. It also has a large glazed tiles carpet from the XVIII century, representing the famous Santa Clara stone monument and, at the entrance, an important gothic tomb from the end of the XV century.

House with a straw roof, one of the exemplars of the typical Madeiran house. It is surrounded by vegetation.

Statue sculpted in bronze and concrete plaques, representing a woman bursting out of nowhere and coming forth as a winner. It aims to celebrate the autonomy of the region.
