Feira da Luz

Linked to the traditional pilgrimage held annually in the Shrine of Our Lady of Light in September, this fair was a complement to the religious festivities that lasted for several days, attracting numerous foreigners from the capital and its surroundings.

At the beginning, the fair came with food stalls, medal salesmen, rosaries and religious objects. Little by little, it grew, and then appeared the potters, fruit sellers, basket makers and, finally, the cattle dealers.

Since 1992, the Parish Council is culturally allied to the festivities that culminate with the Procession of Our Lady of Light.
Currently, the Feira da Luz is organized by the Parish Council of Carnide.

The fair will delight you, as usual, with the presence of several well-known Portuguese artists. The concerts are scheduled for 9:30 p.m.
