Terracotta Army - Xian Warriors

Until September 10th 2017 the Cordoaria Nacional in Lisbon features the internationally acclaimed "Terracotta Army - Guerreiros de Xian", an exhibition which has already been in several European cities.
The army of terracotta warriors, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the main tourist attractions in China. These are 8,000 figures of warriors and horses made of terracotta and life-sized, with personalized features and details such as the age, ethnicity, the type of hair and mustache. Also the costumes they wear allow to guess what military positions they have.
This army, also called Terracotta Army, was buried 2,200 years ago to guard the tomb of Emperor Qin Shihuang and represents one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century.
