Situated at an altitude of 474 meters, Évora Monte Castle offers a beautiful view of the Alentejo plains. To the north, one can glimpse the Serra de São Mamede. To the south, the landscape is dominated by the houses of Évora and the Serra de Mendro. Further east, the verdant eucalyptus forest of Serra da Ossa paints the Alentejo landscape.

From the top of the Castle of Estremoz, one may view several villages along the Alentejo plains. In the clearest days one may even view the Estrela Mountain to the north. Closer by, marvão, Portalegre, Alter do Chão, Cabeço de Vide, Fronteira and Monforte are ar whithe-ish dots on the northern landscapes. From the other side, one has views of the houses in Évora.

This mountain belongs to the Old Massif to the South of the Tagus and is located between Estremoz and Redondo. Its peak reaches an altitude of 653 metres at the São Gens Peak, it is 40 kilometres long and 15 kilometres wide.

In the garden there is a lake, with a sculpture in the centre that symbolizes Saturn, popularly known by the name of Gadanha, because it has an agricultural utensil in its right hand. The Gadanha has six faucets. There is also a playground.
