The "Lourinhã" DOC Brandy is produced in the only demarcated region for brandy in Portugal: the Demarcated Region of Wine Brandies in Portugal. The recommended grape varieties are Alicante, Alvadurão, Broal Espinho, Marquinhas, Malvásia Rei (Seminário), and Tália, and the red Cabinda. Once the grapes are harvested and crushed, the wines to be distilled are produced in wineries registered with the CVRL (National Council of Rural Development).
