This convent originated from a donation dated 1641, in which Father Inácio Coelho made available the land for the construction of the convent and its surrounding grounds. Inside, the polychrome Baroque woodcarving of the altarpieces of the main altar and the side altarpieces is particularly noteworthy.

The lighthouse is located at the northern tip of the island, at the so-called Ponta do Albarnaz, at an altitude of approximately one hundred meters. It is a circular tower 9.5 meters high.

A large church, built in the 19th century, notable for its bell towers and facade punctuated by large windows. Inside, the chancel is particularly noteworthy.
