This manor house dates back to 1280 and has undergone renovations and transformations over the centuries, documented in the reigns of King John I, King John III, and King Afonso VI. Comprising two sections, a ground floor and a main floor, it features an entrance gate with a coat of arms at the top. The chapel is set back from the building, and an inscription on the lintel indicates it was built by Pedro Vaz C. de Sousa.

It was part of the Roman military road from Amarante to Braga.
