Located in the historic area of Castelo Branco, this museum dedicated to the work and life of the artist Manuel Cargaleiro includes two buildings that complement each other. One is Solar dos Cavaleiros, an 18th-century palace, and the other is a contemporary building, inaugurated in 2005. Visitors can appreciate a remarkable set of works part of the Manuel Cargaleiro Foundation collection, which includes works ranging from painting to ceramics, including sculpture, tiles and tapestry.

This project by the Catalan architect Josep Lluis Mateo stands out in the city center landscape for its innovative architecture. It is a hollow building, clad in metal and wood, with four floors. In addition to the exhibition spaces, it has a synthetic ice skating rink and an auditorium with 275 seats, equipped with a high-quality acoustic system, without the use of amplification systems.

Situated in the former Episcopal Palace since 1971, it was created in 1910 in the Convent of the Capuchos, by the archaeologist and personality of several interests in science and the arts for whom it bears the name. The original organization was based on the founder's archaeological collection, later reinforced with pieces from the Episcopal Palace and with archeology spoils and the typical embroidered bedspreads. In the temporary exhibitions, works of textile art, sacred art and ethnography stand out.

The Religious Art Museum Domingos dos Santos Pio, that belongs to the Santa Casa da Misericórdia, is located in the Graça Convent. It has 197 objects that rang from the 16th to the 18th centuries in three rooms, the sacristy and the chapel.

The permanent exhibition "the Labor of the construction site" develops along a route which follows the stages of intervention on the stone for the production of stonework. Are the older and traditional utensils used by stonemasons in the course of successive operations and also the innovations that have been, leading to its abandonment and replacement by machinery. The images presented in this course documenting practices and techniques that lead to production of stonework and realize the fundamental traits of the evolution of activity in Portugal petraea.
