This space integrates a collection of archaeological remains of great importance for reconstructing the city's history. Here you can find traces from the medieval and modern periods, and even from the Roman era and the Iron Age.

The Municipal Theatre - Pax Julia has the largest performance hall in the south of the country. In addition to presenting music, theater and dance performances, it hosts a wide variety of activities: film screenings, conferences, congresses, exhibitions, gatherings, café-concerts, etc. It has a large auditorium, a studio room, a foyer, a spacious cafeteria, technical areas, dressing rooms and various offices.

The museum is housed in the Convent of Our Lady of the Conception, founded in 1459 by the Infantes D. Fernando and D. Brites. Highlights include the 17th-century Portuguese tiles, the 16th-century Sevillian tiles, and the Baroque vault of the Chapter Room. Also, noteworthy are the paintings produced in Portugal, Spain, and Holland between the 15th and 18th centuries, the Roman section, and the collection of large classical capitals from the Forum of the Ancient Pax Julia (Roman Beja).

A small botanical museum where one can view different exhibitions throughout the year, related to economical botanics or ethnobotanics. In that manner, one can get acquainted with the usage of the plants, as well as spices, fibres and colouring agents, gums, resins, aromatic and medicinal herbs, oil seeds, cereals, seeds and exotic fruits, ornamental plants and psycho-active plants.

A museum with a permanent exhibition of scultures by Jorge Vieira. Guided tours under previous appointment, painting, clay and drawing ateliers, also under appointment, for children from kindergarten to the 6th year. It has two rooms for temporary exhibitions, a formation roo, a documentation centre, a cafeteria and temporary residence for artists.
