A space that belongs to the Matosinhos Town Hall, where several exhibitions take place.

This museum, located at the Laboratório do Instituto Geológico e Mineiro (Laboratory of the Geology and Mining Institute), features one of the best and most complete national collections of the main Portuguese mines. A special note to the kaolin exploration of Senhora da Hora. It also shows archaeological findings that ilustrate the mining activities throughout the epochs in Portugal.

Built by João Santiago de Carvalho e Sousa at the end of the 19th century, it was designed by the Italian Nicola Bigaglia. In 1968, the Municipality of Matosinhos acquired the building and the surrounding garden and the space was adapted for the current Museum of Quinta de Santiago/ Centro de Arte de Matosinhos, opened in 1996. A Casa-Museu, que ocupa o edifício onde Abel Salazar (1889-1946) passou os últimos 25 anos de vida (1921-1946), tem como missão pesquisar, conservar, interpretar e expor o legado do seu patrono, bem como contribuir para o estudo e divulgação da vida e obra de Abel Salazar e proporcionar experiências de educação, fruição, reflexão e partilha de conhecimento em seu torno.

Casa da Arquitectura, created in 2007, is a non-profit cultural entity important in the universe of content creation and programming for the national and international dissemination and affirmation of architecture. Its action involves not only architects, but people and entities from various cultural and social areas that encourage and sponsor the mission they believe in, in the public interest of architecture.

Until April 2005 the Municipal Library Florbela Espanca was located in the Palacete de Trevões (Trevões Manor). On May 2005 it moved to a new building, by the architect Alcino Soutinho, that has a reading room with papers and magazines, an adults room/local fund, infantole and juvenile, audiovisual; some books may be borrowed and there are photocopies, internet access, reading animation and library.

The new CAM Rueda Matosinhos features three exhibition centers: an exhibition exclusively devoted to work produced by Gerardo Rueda; a magnificent showcase of the artist's collection, gathered over several decades, including representative names of modern art, Tápiés, Miró, Fernando Zóbel, Pablo Serrano, Millares, Antonio Saura, José de Guimarães, Alberto Carneiro, Nikias Skapinakis, Gerardo Burmester, Albuquerque Mendes and Noronha da Costa.
