The Almeida Garrett library is located at the Palácio de Cristal (Crystal Palace) gardens and melts perfectly with its coubtry like scenery. Besides being a library it also has a soun room and a video room. It also houses a gallery and an auditorium used for conferences, the screening of films and small theatre plays.

Being the most ancient library in the Invicta city, founded in 1833 and placed at the former Santo António da Cidade Convent, a XVIII century construction, presently classified as Public Interest Building. The library has more than 1 200 000 printed documents (monographs and periodical publications) and several special funds, among which we point out, for its sparseness, the manuscripts, from the Middle Ages to our times. This place has Internet access service, juvenile library, sound library (for the visual and motor handicapped) and photocopies, among other services.

Casa da Música is a major concert hall space in Porto, Portugal. It was designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, and was built as part of Porto's project for European Culture Capital in 2001, although it was only finished in the first half of 2005, to immediately become an icon of the city. The Serralves Foundation is a cultural institution of European scope, at the service of the national community, whose mission is to sensitize and create interest in contemporary art and the environment through the Museum of Contemporary Art, a multidisciplinary centre conceived by the architect Siza Vieira, the Park, natural heritage dedicated to environmental education and animation, and a centre for reflection and debate on contemporary society. A remarkable space for rotating and temporary exhibitions on Contemporary Art (Painting, Sculpture, etc.). There are also exhibitions in the old Chapel.
Largo Amor de Perdição
Instalado no edifício da antiga Cadeia da Relação, o Centro Português de Fotografia foi criado em 1997, ainda antes da total requalificação e ampliação.
