This park was built by the Duques of Palmela around the year of 1870. It welcomed parties and bazaars and it is still the place of several cultural activities. It has an open air amphitheatre where symphonic orchestras, jazz bands, vocal groups and even theatre companies have performed. It has a lush, very characteristic vegetation. There are also fitness circuits.

A pleasant green space, with large lawns and several reasons of interest, namely a juvenile library, a mini-zoo, a children's playground and a picnic area. In the garden one can visit the museum of the counts of Castro Guimarães and the 17th century chapel of Saint Sebastian. It is also known as Parque da Gandarinha.
