Convento da Graça

Castelo Branco

It belonged to the Franciscan until 1526 and to the Santo Agostinho Eremites until 1834. In the end of the XVII century and beginning of the XVIII century the convent was rebuilt. From the original plan only stands the Manueline granite portal of the main façade.

Due to the construction of this century, the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Piedade is completely mischaracterized, not being known the date of the Foundation of this monument. The interior has joanino tiles panels depicting the adoration of the Magi, the last supper and the mysteries of the Virgin offered, in 1739, by Dr. Francisco's family Dog.
