Castelo de Paiva

The Church has a large and long alameda in front of main facade and surrounded by the wall of the cemetery of the parish and of two typical houses, an 18th century building (now the parish hall), and other recent (now residence of the parish priest). It is a building with dimensions much higher than those of other parish churches of the surrounding rural parishes.

A small chapel built according to popular taste. A special note to the coverture shape and to the masonry of the campanile door. It is rather degraded and it is difficuklt to accede. The chapel is abandoned and its interior empty. It is located at the entrance of a private property, surrounded by vineyards and bushes.

Castelo de Paiva

A house with a rectangular plan and two floors, construction attributed to the House of Bragança. The "Paços do Concelho", the Courthouse and the Municipal Administration were located here until the beginning of the 20th century. Later it had other functions, namely Jailhouse of the parish on the first floor that still has windows with iron bars. On the south façade, one can view two lateral flights of stairs that unite before the second floor with an entrance topped by the House of Bragança's coat of arms.
