The Cork Route takes you on a journey through the mysteries of the ancient relationship between humans and the cork oak. Through the suggested routes, you'll learn about the stories, techniques of preparing and transforming cork, a popular culture intrinsically linked to this region. Cork is the common thread in six areas of interest: heritage, nature, rural life, tradition, innovation, and knowledge. Each hub explores the cork cycle in its various aspects, from the cork oak forest to the factory, and explores beautiful landscapes. It is uniquely adapted for people with reduced mobility and the blind.

This 2-kilometer hiking trail reaches a maximum altitude of 504 meters. After walking for 1 kilometer on a paved road, you'll find a dirt path on the right and enter the forest. These first few kilometers are relaxing, and hikers can enjoy a refreshing dip in the mineral water at one of the accessible springs along this trail and visit the remains of an ancient tomb.

Narrow cobblestone streets, highlighted by chimneys, ovens, sloping roofs, whitewashed walls, courtyards, and terraces. A stroll leads to tranquility, and the fresh air carries the aroma of rockrose, rosemary, and wildflowers. The historic center of the village of São Brás de Alportel features single-story, whitewashed houses of traditional architecture, as well as the palatial buildings of former cork industrialists and merchants, with tiled facades, carved stonework, and iron balconies.

A 20-kilometer bike route. These trails run through the heart of the mountains. An adventure filled with surprises, with sudden descents and steep climbs. The itineraries are tailored to each mountain biker.

This trail is located on the valley floor, along mule trails. It is 28 km long, allowing you to discover rural areas of extreme beauty and enjoying a unique microclimate.

Walking tour with 7 Km, by the tracks of the frontier north of the district. The rhythm is set by the silence and tranquillity of the landscape, characterized by the distant horizons.

Bicycle track with 26 Km. This are ways right in the heart of the mountain. It is an adventure full of surprises, with sudden slopes and steep hills. The itineraries are adapted to BTT riders and others

Walking tour with 9 Km, starting at the Capela de São Romão. As you walk you can visit the mill’s track, the Alto da Arroteia belvedere and the narrow ways through the old houses.

A space reserved for motorcicles. It is possible to take peaceful walks or practise sports.
