Existem dois tipos de peças de barro: as que vão ao fogo (vidradas e feitas de barro branco) e louça de água (não vidrada e feita com barro vermelho). Os terrenos de Vale da Rosa são muito pobres de barros, no entanto os oleiros continuam este fabrico com barros de localidades próximas.
