A Sericaia, ou Sericá como também é conhecida, é um doce confecionado um pouco por todo o Alentejo, cuja receita original terá sido feita pelas freiras dos conventos de Elvas e Vila Viçosa. Para além da sua normal confeção, o que torna esta guloseima especial é o segredo na arte de deitar o doce no prato de estanho ou barro. Depois de cozido este doce costuma abrir fendas e, em Elvas, é decorado com as famosas ameixas.

Located on the pit of the old Porta de Évora (Évora Gate), this space stands out for the aroma of the orange trees. Harmonious decoration, composed of geommetrical boxwoods, with two lakes in between them. Entrance by the door of the Largo 25 de Abril (April 25 square).
A garden with lush trees, lovely flowerbeds and benches. There are three lakes and a bandstand. There is a sports pavilion (tartan floor, benches and stage), four tennis courts and a restaurant.
