For a long time, São Miguel Island was the only place in Europe where tea was manufactured. Fábrica de Chá Porto Formoso was founded by Amâncio Machado Faria e Maia and operated between the 1920s and the 1980s. Recently, it has been undergoing a recovery process. Visitors can enjoy the estate's vast panoramic gardens, visit the museum space and the tea factory itself. Afterwards, they can relax and taste one of the factory's specialties in the tea room. It has a private park.

The Fábrica de Chá Gorreana began planting tea in 1874, but it was only in 1883 that the first tea came off the production line. The retrospective of tea production can be visited daily at the Gorreana farm. Then, among ancient tea production machines, enjoy an aromatic tea. It has a private park.

Opened in 1933, the Ribeiragrandense Theater is the quintessential concert hall in Ribeira Grande. It was built in the first half of the 20th century, then renovated in 1988 and opened in 2000. Currently, various activities take place here, such as conferences, congresses, films, theater shows, festivals, among others.

An area of great beauty and rugged terrain. It consists of a stream with small dams, hot water springs that cascade down, fumaroles, calderas and rocky outcrops. It is classified as a Regional Natural Monument.

Route with dense vegetation along the entire way. Upon arriving at Caldeira Velha, classified as a National Natural Monument, you can enjoy the beautiful surrounding landscape and the warm, clear waters. There are boiling water that you should not go near, however, further ahead, you will find a waterfall with hot water where you can bathe.

Large lagoon, with clear waters surrounded by a beautiful and peaceful landscape. This area is classified as a Natural Reserve.

A very pleasant space with views of the lovely Fogo (Fire) lagoon and of the surrounding region.
