O requeijão é um derivado de leite muito apreciado nesta região e que pode ser utilizado ou combinado com diversos ingredientes, nomeadamente massas, especiarias, nozes, mel ou doces.

A village that may date back to the neolithic, Valverde is located between the Dão river, the Coja brook and the Teixugueira brook. Full of green pastures and forests, the village/parish of Gradiz, in the council of Aguiar da Beira, has about 200 inhabitants, mostly farmers, cattle raisers, construction workers, resin collectors and bread makers. Very old, of German origins, Gradiz boasts its originally baroque mother church and the Chapel of Saint Iria, as well as the chapel of Saint António, the Vilhena family manor and the Vouga river spring.

Dating back to the visigoths, this villag and parish of Aguiar da Beira has about 274 inhabitants. They are mostly farmers (wine, olive oil, wheat, corn and beans), cattle raisers, house builders and small merchants. One must visit the Chapel of Our Lady of the Verdes (classed as an Publish Interest Construction in 1932 and one of the richest in the parish) and the Dormas caves. Dating back to the late neolithic, the villag has several archaeological vestiges of different cultures and civilizations, namely the menhirs, the biggest of which (four metres) is classed as a national monument. There is also the castro (a celtic village) of Carapito. The pillory (16th century, just after the charter) and the mother church also stand out. The village/parish is located on the left bank of the Tàvora river and reach its highest point, the Pisco Mountain, at an altitude of 986 metres. A special note to the local cheese.
