A limestone sculpture that represents a discoveries landmark, inaugurated on occasion of Portugal's day ceelebrations in 1986. It is about two metres tall and is located in a flowerbed with grass.

This renaissance temple was constructed during the 14th and 16th centuries above a former chapel and it suffered damages with the 1755 earthquake. It has a simple façade dominated by an imposing bell ringer tower. The lateral door presents two curious sculpted human figures. On the main altar it stands out a monumental image with our Lady of Glory coming from Brasil and for a crucifix from the 16th century that tradition says it was in Alcácer – Quibir battle.

Natural resource of great beauty, with cliffs and caves in the sea. There are often walks and excursions to these rocks, and pedestrian access is not easy.

This cultural space, meeting point for different forms of artistic expression and for congresses and conferences, is housed in a 17th century emblazoned building. It has three exhibition halls, two entertainment rooms and an auditorium with a capacity for 300 people.

This recreational and educational center addresses the theme of the Portuguese Discoveries. Installed in an old 18th century manor house, with a Pombaline style, overlooking the riverside area of the city, it has a garden, outdoor patios and panoramic views. The Center is equipped with computers with Internet connection and free access to all visitors, and a garden with a small outdoor auditorium. The program includes lectures to disseminate and debate ideas, astronomical observations or experimental workshops, planned according to the age level of the participants, where touching is mandatory.

Sand shell between colorful cliffs, with interesting rock formations. Much sought after by tourists, it has transparent and calm waters. Don't miss the guided boat tours of the coastal caves. In addition to the services and infrastructure available to visitors, there are several restaurants where you can taste regional cuisine.

A wide stretch of sand that is about 4 km long, accessible by car, train or boat. It has equipments for several water sports and an area for sand sports. On the eastern area, there is naturism. It has many restaurants. By the entrance to the Alvor river, there is a small port for fishing and recreational boats.
