16th-century Fort, sole survivor of the set of twelve forts that were part of the defensive system of the Bay of Praia da Vitória.

Fort located about 1200 metres from Forte de São Fernando, crossing fires with this and with the Fort of São Filipe. Was built by the Corregidor of the Azores in the 16th century, and is currently in ruins.

Fort located about 550 metres from Forte de Santo Antão, having both been constructed to defend the Bay and Praia da Vitória. Was sent up by the Corregidor of the Azores in the 16th century, and restored in the 19th century.
