The park encompasses the municipalities of Castelo Branco and Idanha-a-Nova and is home to a natural heritage of exceptional value. The enclosed valleys of the Tagus River, its tributaries (Erges, Ponsul, and Aravil), and the adjacent flatlands establish the transition between the Central Mountain Range and the Alentejo plain. The climate is typically Mediterranean and is dominated by a rural landscape of extensive crops and cork oak and holm oak forests. The viewpoint is located in the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Penha, from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the village of Alva and the Serra de Montemuro.

A small beach with calm waters located on one of the banks of the Paiva River, the place is quite wooded and pleasant.

Restored watermills that are still in operation are located along the riverbed.

In this place, the polychrome images of Our Lady of Ouvida and Saint Barbara, dating from the 15th century, stand out.

This river beach, surrounded by tall trees, has a picnic area and a small bar.

The Teatro Regional da Serra do Montemuro (Regional Theater) was founded in 1990, the result of a meeting of local, national, and international artists, in the small village of Campo Benfeito, high in the Serra do Montemuro. It presents shows throughout the country, and this is where the company rehearses and occasionally performs.

A former primary school is home to the Capuchinhas Cooperative, made up of half a dozen women who work with linen and burel, creating garments sold throughout the country.

This cooperative produces handcrafted items typical of the region.

This remains of the fortress are located at the site known as Portas de Montemuro, with an uncertain construction and occupation date. A fortified settlement attributed to the Iron Age, scattered remains of a wall with a very irregular polygonal layout have been detected.
