Some say it's more charming in winter because of the added beauty the snow provides, but there are plenty of reasons to visit during the warmer months as well. Starting with the protected area of ​​the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, with its rich fauna and flora, and ending at Torre, the highest point in mainland Portugal. There's much to explore on foot or by car. Another unmissable highlight is Serra da Estrela cheese.

This museum, integrated into the University of Beira Interior, aims to safeguard and preserve the extensive heritage of the textile industry in the municipality of Covilhã. It also aims to research and disseminate the technology related to the industrialization of wool production. It is divided into three sections: the Real Fábrica Veiga/Centro de Interpretação dos Lanifícios, which is the current headquarters of the Museum; the Real Fábrica de Panos and the Râmolas de Sol.

Located at an altitude of 488 meters, it has been a place of worship since ancient times. The Chapel of Our Lady of Penha was built out of popular devotion, after an apparition of Our Lady to a shepherdess. Also, noteworthy are the hermitage of Saint Saturnino and the romantic-revivalist mansion from 1918.

Small reservoir with water dammed for irrigation. It is surrounded by trees and is composed of native vegetation mixed with stands of non-native species and varied fauna, namely ecological niches of several species. Nearby is the Penha Longa church, a national monument.

It was named after the watermills that once stood on the cliffs. There isn't really a beach, just a natural saltwater pool framed by a beautiful landscape. The existing restaurants are traditional and offer good food, specializing in fish and seafood dishes.

A beach with a long stretch of sand at the mouth of the Colares river, with good access and a picturesque tram that runs down the entire valley. It has beautiful rock formations surrounded by the village of Colares. The area has a children's playground and traditional restaurants serving fish and seafood dishes.

The building consists of two sections with sober and well-proportioned lines, already revealing a neoclassical taste. In 1802, the two lateral sections were linked by a large triumphal arch, commemorating the visit of D. João IV. Inside, the highlight is a room with mural paintings, of the Pillement type, and the Convention Room, with maritime and mythological scenes. It was transformed into a hotel, but maintains its original design.

This 19th-century building is topped by bulbous domes and features revivalist, Moorish, and Neo-Gothic motifs decorating the friezes, windows, and entrances. Of particular note are the Neo-Mudéjar interior cladding and the profusion of intricate stucco work. The building is surrounded by elegant romantic gardens.

This building originated from the desire of King Pedro V to transform the Quinta de Queluz into a palace. Construction began in 1747 under the direction of Mateus Vicente de Oliveira and later J. B. Robillon, who gave the palace its exquisite decoration. Inside the palace, the throne room, the music room, and the ambassadors' room are prominent features. Its gardens are adorned with statues, lakes, and fountains. The grand canal has walls covered in tiles.

Liberty Park features a picnic area, bars, a skating rink, a tennis court, several fountains, and lakes. It's worth noting the enormous variety of species present.
