Village created in the 15th century, whose lands were owned by D. Luís Galvão Coutinho Freire. Its populations lived, essentially, at the expense of agriculture, given the fertility of the land for cultivation. Since it was close to Vila Viçosa, Estremoz and Borba, abandonment became inevitable. It had almost 40 inhabitants, but in the 80s it was abandoned, until, in 1998, it was acquired and recovered to give rise to the Village Tourism.

Convent founded in 1505 by Dom Jaime IV, fourth Duke of Bragança. It was here that this historical figure isolated himself, consumed by remorse for having had his wife, the Duchess Dona Leonor, killed. The highlight goes to the forest inside, given its richness, which includes artificial lakes, islands, chapels, fountains and corners of great beauty.

This is one of the most important buildings in Borba, located on the old Rua da Aramenha. It belonged to one of the wealthy families in the region, thanks to wine production. It already worked as a school until just before the 25th of April revolution.

Pólo Museológico de Azinhal Abelho

Space where you can learn a little about the history of the people of Borba, known through the eyes of Joaquim Azinhal Abelho, born in Orada, where he was born on April 13, 1911. He had a degree in Romance Philology and ended up developing a great interest in the Alentejo ethnography, in addition to being a compiler of the Cartas de Florbela Espanca. He died in Lisbon, but is buried in the Orada cemetery.

Castle made of stone masonry and a thick wall, with a wide walkway running along the entire wall. The Porta do Celeiro stands out, flanked by a single turret, the Porta de Estremoz, leading to the large Alentejo square, flanked by its two towers. Still worthy of attention is the Keep, reinforced with marble masonry on the corners, square and squat, completely solid.
