The forest covers more than 33 hectares and is considered the lungs of this municipality. The highest point in the Forest is 500 meters high, where the Chapel of Santo António is located. It has a picnic park, exercise circuit and leisure areas.

Created in 1986 on a former agricultural farm, the Faial Botanical Garden is dedicated to the conservation of landscape biodiversity and environmental education and awareness. Occupying an area of approximately 8000 square meters, you can find, in this space, the natural flora of the Azores (coastal vegetation, medium altitude vegetation, altitude vegetation and vegetation of ravines and sheltered areas), ornamental and exotic plants and an area of medicinal plants. Located around a hundred meters above sea level, just outside the parish of Capelo, this park, covering 96 hectares, is densely wooded and has a considerable diversity of endemic plants. In addition to enabling barbecues and picnics, it can be used for various physical maintenance activities.

The fame of these spas dates back to Roman times, but the first written reference dates back to 1884. Located in upper Minho, it provides rest and the treatment of some illnesses. Its waters of medium mineralization, carbonated, calcium/magnesian bicarbonate and ferruginous, are especially indicated for the treatment of digestive, metabolic-endocrine and rheumatic diseases.
