Space that was remodelled and opened in March, 2006. It has theatre plays and also dance and music events, among others.

LAV - Lisboa Ao Vivo is born to bridge the gap in terms of showrooms in the capital. A room designed and equipped for events and performative activities, mainly live music performances, with capacity for about a thousand people. A cultural equipment at the disposal of musicians, agents and promoters, that now becomes a real need in Lisbon. LAV is thus a multifaceted place, destined for private or institutional spectacles, concerts and events.

Created in 1953 by testamentary disposal of Calouste Gulbenkian, the foundation was tribute of the Armenian collector to the country where he took shelter during the world war and where he lived till his death. This large architectonical complex includes the administration block, the library and the museum, the great auditorium and an amphitheatre (in the Park). On sunny days, the marvellous Foundation Gardens attract many visitors.

Esta fundação foi criada por disposição testamentária do Eng. António de Almeida, que estipulou os fins (artísticos, educativos e de caridade). Reconhecida em 1969, abriu ao público em 1973. Ao longo destes 50 anos, tem desenvolvido uma intensa atividade cultural - sobretudo nas áreas da literatura, arte, educação e ciência - através da realização de encontros, conferências e debates, exposições e concertos, nas suas instalações e fora delas. Edita e apoia publicações como livros e revistas.
