Museu do Cinema de Melgaço - Jean Loup Passek
A museum located in the historic area of Melgaço, in the old building of the guard, bought by the Town Hall and adapted. It was inaugurated in June 2005 and features thousands of posters and photographs, old cinema cameras, more modern equipments and many movies. A wide collection donated to the parish by Jean-Loup Passek, someone who fell in love with this small town. Passek ran the cinema section of the Centre Georges Pompidou, in Paris, ans was the director of the Cinema Festival of La Rochelle. The museum features a permanent exhibition, with a small auditorium, and spaces for temporary exhibitions.
