Fortaleza de Nossa Senhora da Conceição / Fortaleza da Póvoa de Varzim
Fortress with polygonal plant and four bastions. Has slanted blinds and robust. The gate well domed, flanked, crowned by real shield and a Bell Tower lies facing the village.
It was built during the reign of Dom Pedro II and of Dom João V, in the 18th century, with the aim to defend the coastal area of pirate attacks.
