Caldas da Saúde

In the heart of Minho are Caldas da Saúde, open all year round, equipped with the most modern technology alongside an interesting exhibition of the equipment used to carry out cures at the beginning of the century. The first references to the waters of Caldas da Saúde date back to the 10th century, however, the first spa truly worthy of the name was built in 1891, with Manuel Joaquim Marques as the concessionaire. Roman objects were found in the expansion works, around 1915, a sign that the Romans were already taking advantage of this natural wealth. These medicinal waters are used to treat respiratory, rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.
