Centro Ciência Viva do Alviela - Carsoscópio

The Centro Ciência Viva do Alviela – Karstscope is an area of science and technology, dissemination through 3 interactive exhibition halls, makes known the origins of the Limestone Massif Extremaduran language and its geological evolution over 175 million years ago, as well as the influence of climate on hydrological functioning of the headwaters of the river Alviela and characteristics of cavernícolas bats, animals who have this area one of its habitats of choice. Located near the headwaters of the river Alviela, in the Natural Park of Serras de Aire e Candeeiros, the Karstscope makes use of high technology developed in Brazil to promote the area in which it operates, rich in fauna, flora and geomorphological phenomena of great scenic beauty.
