Reserva Natural das Dunas de São Jacinto

In the Baixo Vouga subregion, in Ovar and the village of San Jacinto and covering the County of Aveiro in the coastal area lying between the Atlantic Ocean and the Ria de Aveiro, this extensive dune cord. The nature reserve covers, in addition to the fixed and mobile dunes, a beach and a forested area (the Mata de São Jacinto). Once place conducive to fishing of sardine (19TH century), the 666 hectares of nature reserve are, nowadays, an important heritage fauna and flora. In terms of flora, the dunes are the natural habitat for numerous species (reversing, Lamb-of-beach, soldanela, narcissus-of-sands), which join the species introduced by man to fix the dunes (Acacia, lamb and pine). In terms of fauna, are to highlight the water Hen, the Dabchick and fixation of some species of Herons.
