Jardim do Paço

Ex-libris of the city, the construction of the Jardim do Paço was ordered in 1725 by the Guarda Bishop, Dom João de Mendonça. It has cascades, water spouts, lakes and stairs, in a relation of harmony with the garden. The jardim alagado or the tank with narrow curves stand out for its extreme beauty. At the kings stairs are represented all the Portuguese kings. There are several sculptures in the garden.
