Graça Morais - Courage and Fear

The exhibition "Graça Morais - Courage and Fear" will be presented to the public between 15 June and 31 December 2017, at the Graça Morais Contemporary Art Centre, in Bragança.

The protagonists of this show are the thousands of migrants on their way to exile, the outraged from urban misery, the refugees coerced by forces that they cannot control, pushed into the abyss, fleeing poverty, suppression of wars, violence and death.

However, the fatalism of the figures and the apocalyptic scenarios, the artist opposes heroic figures, images of great complacency and hope, visible in the succession of metamorphosed "Pietàs".
