The Foundation has an auditorium, a library geared towards young people, and a music school. The Lord Foundation was established on June 18, 1998, with the purpose of contributing to the areas of education and sports, science, art, and social support, thus contributing to the development of the parish of Lordelo..
The House of Culture is also known as "Palacete da Granja" because it was built by a Portuguese man who returned from Brazil in 1822. It's possible to see some characteristics of the American continent, such as the yellow tiles on the facades and the large dimensions of the doors and windows. The enormous garden surrounding the building is also noteworthy. The House is used for cultural and recreational purposes, featuring excellent exhibition rooms and an auditorium with a capacity of 187 seats.
This library has thirty thousand books, from the most important works to dictionaries and monographies. Its most valuable book is the printing of "Os Lusíadas" by Emílio Biel. There is an exhibitions room where there are temporary educational exibitions, conferences and music. Aside the library there is also a Museum with archaeological artefacts, clothings and regional craftswork.
