A large green space, planted by José do Canto, husband of the owner, Mrs. Guilhermina Brum da Silveira. This garden has belonged to the same family for 20 generations. A highlight is an area called Vale dos Fetos (Valley of the Ferns), built in the mid-20th century by Ernesto Hintze Ribeiro.

This volcanic geological formation is approximately 1650 meters long and has an average height of two to three meters, with some places exceeding five meters. Its width varies considerably, reaching up to ten meters. Be sure to notice the beautiful stalactites of lava origin on the ceiling, with their conical shapes and smooth surfaces.

Founded in 1876, the museum is housed in the former convent of Santo André and features a Natural History section, begun in the 19th century, which includes specimens of Azorean flora and fauna. Here you can appreciate collections of painting, sculpture, sacred art, tiles and goldsmithing that make up the Art section, the regional ethnography section, and even a toy collection.
